Lake Tillery is a reservoir between Badin Lake and Blewett Falls Lake in the Uwharrie Lakes Region of North Carolina. It is a 5000+ acre lake with over 100 miles of beautiful shoreline that is entirely within Stanly and Montgomery Counties, NC. The lake was created by impounding the Pee Dee River, which is created by the confluence of the Yadkin River and the Uwharrie River several miles to the north. Norwood, NC in neighboring Stanly County uses as its town motto “Gateway to Lake Tillery”.

There is some great fishing in Lake Tillery. The lake has Bluegill/Bream, Largemouth Bass, White Bass, Black Crappie, Blue and Flathead Catfish, White Perch, and Striped Bass. There is a great little bait shop right down the road (info here)

One of our favorite places to eat is a restaurant very close to our house, it is the River Wild Restaurant. You can drive there or take your boat from our dock where there is boat parking at their dock. (it’s actually quicker and more fun by boat)

There are many other restaurants in Norwood, Troy, and Albemarle NC. For seafood there is the Bluebay and Jay’s Downtowner in Albemarle, and the 5 Points Public House is described as having an upscale pub atmosphere. Reservoir coffee on main street Norwood is also highly recommended.

The closet grocery stores are Food Lions and almost equidistant from Albemarle (20 mins) and Norwood (19 mins). You can get some snack items at Lillys Bridge Bait and Tackle store (10 mins)

You are also just a few minutes from the Uwharrie National Forest and Morrow Mountain State Park which have some great hiking.
